Asda cancels Black Friday, says shoppers are 'tired' of sales

LONDON — British supermarket Asda, which is owned by Walmart, says it will not take part in Black Friday this year — two years after the store introduced the shopping event to UK shoppers.
Black Friday, which started in the U.S. and takes place the day after Thanksgiving, is being shelved by the retailer because of "shopper fatigue", according to the supermarket chain.
Police had to be called into a number of Black Friday events, and extra security staff was put in place at stores last year after rows erupted between people who were trying to score bargains. Read more...
